Cosas Have Been Goin Down

Buen día, fam and friends. Forgive the brief absence, but like the title says, things have been going down over here, and your elder has been really busy. But say no more, let's get you updated.

TRANSFERS

Your boy got transferred. I got transferred to, legit, the best zone in the mission called "Ciudad del Este." It's a city on the border of Paraguay and Brazil, so there's a heavy Brazilian influence. And it's the coolest place on the planet (look it up online). I've been wanting to come here my whole mission. My companion is also amazing, Elder Lovell from Sandy, Utah. I absolutely love the guy. Together we're ballin'. Best duo since Shaq and Kobe. The Lord is also letting me get a little action as a Zone Leader now, meaning Elder Lovell and I are responsible for bringing the best zone in the mission to unimaginable heights. Ladies and gentlemen, we're fired up.

Carbon Monoxide

Just a fun little story: last night at like 2:30 a.m., our carbon monoxide alarm went off, waking up not only us but everyone who lives in the complex. We turned it off and then brought it back in, and it went off two more times. At this point, we were not cool with the idea of sleeping in there. So Lovell and I walked a chill 15 minutes through the streets of CDE in our PJs to the house of the other elders so we could sleep again. Definitely an experience to be remembered.

LA OBRA

Big news coming in. Lovell and I are doing a "whitewash," which means we are both brand new to the area. This has been a huge blessing because the Pickett & Lovell duo is wreaking havoc straight from the start. I don't even know how, but this next week we are having five baptisms and a wedding. We are so pumped. In only one week, we have seen the blessings of having faith, urgency, and love for these people. This area also has a ward, not a branch, so it's BIG. And it's also the infamous "Barrio 1." The members run this ward like an army, and they are all so proud to be members of Barrio 1. Everything here in the ward is exactly organized; it's incredible. Nothing fills me with greater joy or purpose than being an instrument in the hands of the Lord. CDE TO THE MOON.

ST

The word I want you to dissect and get all pensive about is... Still.

Really think about that. Don't move on to that next thought yet—go back to the word and think. Still. I have had great joy in my recent efforts to be still. When life is moving so fast and spinning out of control, shift into the still zone. That is where God and the Spirit dwell. They dwell where it is still.

That's all, folks. Thanks for coming.

Slide into my inbox and let's catch up.

Love you all,
Elder Pickett
