Elder Piglet

Fam & friends, it's been a chill two weeks, and we're back. It's heaven on earth here in CDE; we are deep in that “gozo zone.” We're busy. I love it. So I'm gonna get right to it 'cause we don't have a lot of time. CONFERENCIA DE LÍDERES A couple of weeks back, the district líderes and I hopped on a little seven-hour bus ride to Asunción for a big leadership conference. Always a good time. Played some great soccer by night with all the guys and then spiritually fed by day on some stuff we can do better as a mission. I love it. ELDER PIGLET Many of the Paraguayans have an absolute battle pronouncing Pickett. Piglet is what comes out most of the time, so that's what we're rolling with. They all lose it when I tell them what piglet means in Spanish. LA OBRA From the last time we talked, three more incredible people were baptized. It is such a pleasure to get to help and get to know every one of them. One of the most incredible is our buddy Blas. He ...

Cuanto Lo Deseas?

"Two weeks in a row is crazy," they said. Well, now we're back with a little two-week streak because this week was crazy, and life is good in the CDE. Let’s hop into this calm update. ZONE CONFERENCE & DIVISIONS Monday night, the APs came out and stayed with us for a couple of days. I love them both so much. I got to go out with Elder Valerdi, who is one of my best friends in the mission and was also the first guy I ever did divisions with. He put on an absolute clinic on how to be a missionary, as always. Love that guy. I'll be so sad to see him go soon. Wednesday, we had Zone Conference, and all the missionaries from Zones 8 and 9 came out to CDE. It was enriching, as always. Lovell and I gave a presentation and had everyone shoulder-deep in those spiritual bags. THE WORK/BAPTISM CELEBRATION That same evening, we had a wedding, and five of our friends got baptized. Once again, my joy is overflowing. Elder Valerdi also joined us in white because he helped teach t...

Cosas Have Been Goin Down

Buen día, fam and friends. Forgive the brief absence, but like the title says, things have been going down over here, and your elder has been really busy. But say no more, let's get you updated. TRANSFERS Your boy got transferred. I got transferred to, legit, the best zone in the mission called "Ciudad del Este." It's a city on the border of Paraguay and Brazil, so there's a heavy Brazilian influence. And it's the coolest place on the planet (look it up online). I've been wanting to come here my whole mission. My companion is also amazing, Elder Lovell from Sandy, Utah. I absolutely love the guy. Together we're ballin'. Best duo since Shaq and Kobe. The Lord is also letting me get a little action as a Zone Leader now, meaning Elder Lovell and I are responsible for bringing the best zone in the mission to unimaginable heights. Ladies and gentlemen, we're fired up. Carbon Monoxide Just a fun little story: last night at like 2:30 a.m., our carbon ...
