En Mi Salsa
Brothers and sisters, coming at you live from C-town on this beautiful Monday. It has been a minute since we've talked. During that time, lots of stuff has been going down, so let's hop right to it.
Fuego Madness
Recently, the 775 was ablaze. My mom reached out to let me know there were some huge fires going on right around our house, and that it wasn't looking too good. Luckily, huge forest fires are no match for the power of God. He always delivers. So good to hear all is tranquilo back home.
Noche de Rama
We started renting this soccer field every Thursday night for the branch night, and it goes crazy. A bunch of the brothers show up, and we all ball out. The soccer night has done wonders for us and has bonded the brothers in the branch together in a big way.
LA OBRA
Brothers and sisters, today my joy is full, overflowing honestly, and I am absolutely exhausted. But this past week, our dear friends Luis and Cristina were baptized and married. The day was just unreal. Some of my favorite Elders in the mission showed up, and a bunch of the branch came out to support. It was perfect. And yesterday, our buddy Benjamin was baptized as well. All I feel is intense joy and simply gratitude for the opportunity the Lord has given me to be an instrument in His hands here, to change and strengthen this area forever. I think about my first Sunday here, when we had one person in church, compared to this past week. The area is unrecognizable. Yesterday, I also hit 8 months on the mission, and it had me thinking about the past little bit. What I have learned, experienced, and felt out here, I could never begin to explain what it has done for me.
ST
Really quick, I wanted to call attention to a theme we see in the scriptures all the time that's illustrated in Alma 9:10:
“And have ye forgotten so soon…?”
I love this. The natural man in us is drawn to forget. As we fight off the natural man, we are drawn to do the opposite: remember. Remember always what we have learned, felt, and experienced, which are all gifts that come from above. Always remember, brothers and sisters, never forget.
Quick shout-out to the boy Harry Regalado, who absolutely delivered on his farewell talk yesterday. Huancayo ain't ready.
Love you all.
