Donde El Señor Me Necesite
Fam, friends, sorry for keeping you hanging last week, but now I'm back with some of the weekly goodness. A lot has happened, so I'm gonna get straight to it.
MYSTERY ZONE/AREA
Your boy got transferred to an area called Carapeguá (that means short people in Guaraní, so I'm gonna stick out even more here). And folks, it happened again. I got sent to not only an area that is far out and very unknown but a whole zone. A bunch of the missionaries have joked with me before, telling me the zone doesn't exist, etc., and I always said, "Oh, I feel bad for the chump who gets sent there." Well, it appears the Lord has a sense of humor because we are out here now. But I'm trying to see it as an opportunity to mess around and help the Lord make some miracles go down or something, idk. The vibes are very similar to when I got to Oviedo, and we know how that went, so I'll keep you posted. My new comp is my brother Elder Lecca! Homie's from Peru, and he has even less time than me, so Prezzy and the Lord must trust me. A little bit of pressure is on, but I like it.
LA LIMPIEZA
When I got to the new area, it was all a wreck. The pension, the baby chapel, the work, all of it. At this point, I'd like to bestow upon myself the nickname of “the Janitor” because it appears Prezzy has been sending me to areas that need to be “cleaned,” so we're here to do just that, folks. Starting with the pension, it was absolutely thrashed. The elders before me were not the cleanest fellas, so the first thing I did was clean the heck out of this joint. Next, the chapel. The chapel isn't like the big regular chapels you see; it's like a baby building with a couple of rooms. The chapel was also absolutely thrashed, super dirty, and there was stuff everywhere. The baptismal font was crazy dirty because it hasn't been used in so long (that'll change). It looked like one of those miniature ecosystem experiments; there was so much algae and such. And finally, the work. This area didn't really have members or people progressing before, but Lecca and I got straight to it, starting to put big things in the works.
LA OBRA
We were running around this week visiting past members, contacting, and talking with everyone. And we actually had a bunch of people lined up to come to church. We were gonna pass by with the branch president and pick a bunch of people up. But then Satan came in with a last-second dirty play, the cold and Paraguay's greatest opportunity, the rain. Paraguayans are allergic to rain, no joke. Even when there is a tiny bit, they all shut down and refuse to leave or do anything. So just that happened, and even the 2 members we had didn't pull up. This Sunday, it was my comp and I, the branch prezzy and his wife, and 1 sweet old lady. But to be so real, it was a very tender reunion with the 5 of us. The branch prezzy and his wife aren't even from here; they are from a town an hour from here. So in the whole town of Carapeguá, there are a total of 0 fully active members who come every Sunday. Got some work cut out for me fo sho.
Folks, that's all.
Love you all.
