Wrappin It Up

Hermanos y Hermanas, another great week hits the books over here. I'm gonna need the time to slow down over here. The week though…

Vaca Disaster

Just a little funny story for you. The other day Elder Woodward and I were sitting out in front of this house having a lesson with an old lady. Out of nowhere, we heard a bunch of barking dogs and then all of a sudden this cow ran through the front yard, absolutely steaming through this poor lady's garden, being chased by every dog in the neighborhood. No joke, there were like 20 dogs chasing that thing. After the cow absolutely leveled this poor lady's garden, she was yelling in Guaraní (the native language) and it was wild. At the same time, it was kinda funny if I'm being so real. Luckily plants grow back, but let this be a public reminder to everyone, including you people back in the States, to remember to LOCK YOUR COWS UP, FOLKS.

ZONE CONFERENCE

Zone conference was this last week in Ciudad del Este and it was spiritually enriching as usual. However, a little sad because it's Presidente Faundez's last conference before we get the new president this next transfer. It was so good to see all my good buddies again from CDE, chop it up with everyone about the work, and what we can all do to get deeper in our bags spiritually and as missionaries (for you old folks that means get better). Elder Fernández, Elder Johnstun, and I also played a little guitar piece in the conference. All of us with a guitar, singing the hymn “Señor yo te seguiré.” I mean there wasn't a dry eye in that chapel. Anyway, I am fired up to get back out and continue refining the work.

LA OBRA

It's pretty probable that I am now going into my last full week here in Oviedo. With that in mind, it's time to start wrapping it up here and pretty soon start throwing some “hail marys” to hopefully see a couple more miracles go down here. This past week our amiga Liz was baptized as well! She's a student and a firefighter and has the most insane schedule I've ever seen, but despite all that, she makes it to church and was baptized. She's crazy. Sunday morning, she got off work after working through the night and after a long previous day of school, without sleeping at all, she came straight to church and got a call in church that her uncle just died. Despite all of that, she stayed in church and was baptized. Crazy, huh? Just goes to show you the sacrifices people make to apply the gospel in their lives. Vamos Liz.

Fam, that is all from down here this week.
