Shakira Ha Vuelto

Family and Friends, it's been another great week down here in the heart of South America. I was a little sick earlier this week, but we are back at it now. Let's get to what went down.

HACE FRIO

As we enter winter down here, I was under the impression that Paraguay doesn't get cold. Whoever told me that was fronting so hard. This week got COLD. It's different from the cold in the States, though, because it's super humid here, and the humidity just amplifies the temperature. But nonetheless, I enjoyed the switch-up from the usual heat. The best part was yesterday when it got all cold. The branch pretends it's like Christmas time and plays Christmas hymns, so I got to catch a little Christmas vibe in May. Life is beautiful.

ZC SWITCH UP ASUNCION

So last minute they switched up the zone conference again and decided to do a big group one in Asunción at the mission office with zones 1, 8, and 9. I was so fired up because I got to be reunited with some of my good buddies from the CCM. All the missionaries just bunk up at the office and it becomes like a holy frat house. In the night we played a big soccer match/tournament. It was LIT. I was on the squad with the elders from the zone, so you know we had that chemistry developed from all the p-days of playing together. We put on a clinic for the other zones, straight ballin'. Some even say they saw “Elder Shakira” (my former soccer alias) out there on the court that night. Elder Shakira is back. The actual conference was so awesome as well. President Faundez is such a king and he always drops wisdom on us, got me deep in my spiritual bag.

MAROONED

So Elder Raddie and I were up on the roof of our building eating some dinner before bed. When we went to go back down, someone had locked the door to go back down, and it could only be unlocked from the inside. We were marooned. What this resorted to was trying to find the safest way down from the roof. Luckily, the balconies of the building descended down like a staircase and then there was a big ladder on the roof we were going to use to get us down from the last balcony. As we began to climb, the building's maintenance worker pulled up and he came and unlocked the door for us. Clutch.

ST

So I'm just gonna drop a scripture this week, read it, ponder it and such.

“Behold, I speak with boldness, having authority from God; and I fear not what man can do; for perfect love casteth out all fear.”

I love this scripture. Especially the part about this perfect love. Love is the motive of God's whole plan. How it all works is showing love back by keeping the commandments and pressing forward in faith. It's all love.

That's all from EP

Love you all,
