How Its Been Movin As Of Recent
Fam, friends, first, my deepest apologies for not providing you with an update this past week. But just like that, two more weeks are down, blessings flowing, time is flying, I'm gonna need it all to slow down a little bit. But let's just get to it, shall we?
LACTOLANDA
In Paraguay, there's this dairy company, and they run it all down here. They are the dairy "big dog" of Paraguay without a doubt. Anything you can think of that's made with dairy, yeah, Lactolanda makes it, and their products are all over down here. They have their main factory in my zone, so this past p-day, some of the zone went over on a little field trip to Lactolanda to tour inside the factories, and it was crazy. I was like a kid in a candy store, or even better, a 19-year-old in a dairy plant. The plant is also run by a bunch of white German Mennonites. So it made the experience even crazier because the plant is just full of hundreds of these dudes who look exactly the same. I felt like I was at the Wonka chocolate factory, but instead of Oompa-Loompas, there's a bunch of German dudes. After the tour, they had this little soft-serve shack, and wow, do these brothers know how to make soft-serve ice cream, it was straight crazy. Dairy is their craft, runs in their blood. Best soft-serve I've ever had. Also, the employees wear these hats that are so sick; a couple of the elders and I wanted them BAD (trust, they are so dirty). But they don't sell these hats, so after some sweet talk, we talked the front office into selling us some of them, and the hat has been acquired. All around great experience, Lactolanda, I am forever a lifelong customer.
SWAMPIN
This week, the Big Man heavily blessed the rains down here. Thursday, Friday, Saturday, it was a dump fest. Rains came down, and the floods came up, if you know what I'm saying. So Saturday night, we were out in the boonies of our area, where there's barely any drainage, right? I mean, we are out in sticks. So all these fields out there get super flooded, and the whole area turns into this big swamp, and some parts are thigh-deep. So we're trekking through this swamp in the dark. It was crazy; Elder Radcliffe almost fell in, I almost lost a shoe, luckily no snakes or gators were spotted. What an experience, what a way to end the week.
THE WORK
The work's been going pretty decent. Elder Raddie and I have been going hard. Although the end of May is looking promising to have some more success, the work is still tough. Even though we're talking with everyone, always teaching and contacting, even putting around six baptismal dates a week, sometimes it all just falls through, and it's super tough to watch. One thing I have learned recently is to have a little more patience with the people we are working with and trust in the Lord's timing. Obviously, as missionaries, we need to do every possible thing in our power to help them get baptized, but sometimes success just doesn't happen when we want it to. But that doesn't mean it won't happen because when we "press forward with a steadfastness in Christ, having a perfect brightness of hope, and a love of God and of all men," we will always end up with success, whether it be next week, next month, next year, or whenever the Lord permits. Brothers and sisters, fellow missionaries especially, press forward, keep that faith, and you 100% will be successful eventually, in one way or another. For with God, not only do we always win, but we actually CAN'T lose. So keep swinging.
That's all from yours truly.
