Mi gente, deepest apologies for the miss last week, but wipe those tears because we are BACK. COCIDO INCIDENT The other day we were at this family's house, playing some cards and whatnot. Their 12-year-old son brought over this pot of PIPING hot cocido (it's a hot drink here) that he had forgotten on the stove. So, I’m in the middle of cooking this family in a game of UNO, and then this kid goes and spills this molten hot liquid all over my leg. Dude. I was going THROUGH IT. But there’s no longer a mark on my leg, so we’re cool now. SÁBADO / BEST NIGHT EVER There were a couple of tough days this week. We’ve already gone over this, but the area is in a tough spot, right? Anyway, on Saturday, we had dinner at our friends Sefarino and Dominga’s house (their respective nicknames are Big Sef and Domingoat). They are the greatest. I love them so much. They’re legit my Paraguayan fam. I’m sure the Lord did His thing, and they’re one of the biggest reasons I’m here in this area. Anyway...
"Two weeks in a row is crazy," they said. Well, now we're back with a little two-week streak because this week was crazy, and life is good in the CDE. Let’s hop into this calm update. ZONE CONFERENCE & DIVISIONS Monday night, the APs came out and stayed with us for a couple of days. I love them both so much. I got to go out with Elder Valerdi, who is one of my best friends in the mission and was also the first guy I ever did divisions with. He put on an absolute clinic on how to be a missionary, as always. Love that guy. I'll be so sad to see him go soon. Wednesday, we had Zone Conference, and all the missionaries from Zones 8 and 9 came out to CDE. It was enriching, as always. Lovell and I gave a presentation and had everyone shoulder-deep in those spiritual bags. THE WORK/BAPTISM CELEBRATION That same evening, we had a wedding, and five of our friends got baptized. Once again, my joy is overflowing. Elder Valerdi also joined us in white because he helped teach t...
Brothers and sisters, hoping this email finds you all in a blessed state. Let's jump right into this past week's events. KING OF CTOWN Recently, we've been working with our guy Jorge, an older member who recently reactivated himself, and now he's all in. A stud. This week, he walked around with us to teach and visit people, and this dude knows EVERYONE. He was chatting with literally everyone like, “Oh, we used to play soccer back in the day,” or “Oh, he's buddies with my brother.” This guy knows everybody. Every other house we walked by was his cousin's place or something. My companion was like, "How many cousins does this guy have?" The best part is that when we were contacting and visiting people, everyone recognized him and let us in. Jorge is our secret weapon, the king of C-town. Lessons with members are about to get exciting. OFF THE DOME This is the third week in a row the branch president has come up to me minutes before church and asked me to...
